Private equity investor Causeway Capital has invested around €4 million to back a management buyout (MBO) of Irish recycling plant equipment specialist Turmec. The MBO will be led by managing director Brian Thornton, with founder Joe Coffey remaining involved in the business
Turmec is an expert in material recycling facility (MRF) design, manufacture and installation, serving a customer base that includes Biffa, Suez, Powerday and Bord Na Mona. Turmec work predominantly in the UK and Ireland, but are increasingly expanding overseas, with pressures on landfill and China’s waste import ban creating global demand for improved recycling capabilities.
PMSI provided commercial due diligence to support Causeway during the transaction.
