Fire suppression business Alpine Fire, which designs and manages active fire suppression systems for complex industries has acquired Hampshire-based DAS Fire.
The acquisition follows a WestBridge-backed secondary buyout of Greater Manchester-based Alpine Fire by its management team in 2022.
Having identified data centres as a key target market for growth, the company’s first acquisition since the investment by WestBridge adds additional technical expertise alongside an expansion into a new complex market.
DAS Fire is a market leader in supplying fire detection and suppression solutions to the data centre market across the UK and Ireland, founded in 2013.
It offers a full-service design, installation, maintenance and support offering bespoke to the data centre market. The founders Paul Darke and Stuart Parker will remain with the business alongside the entirety of their team.
PMSI provided CDD to support the transaction, including an assessment of DAS Fire’s addressable data centre market, key market dynamics (e.g. the acceleration of data processing requirements driven by AI and continued shift towards cloud-based infrastructure). PMSI explored the future data centre project pipeline and the strategies developers are using to secure more grid capacity to keep pace with data demand. The CDD assessed DAS Fire’s competitive environment and USPs which have enabled DAS to become a leading fire protection system provider to the data centre market.
