PMSI supported BGF’s investment into Harley Haddow
Growth capital investor BGF has completed a multi-million-pound investment in Harley Haddow, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, to support the next phase of its growth.
Harley Haddow specialises in mechanical and electrical engineering, geotechnical, civil and structural engineering, fire engineering, and building performance and sustainability. The business supports clients in navigating increasingly complex design, regulatory and sustainability requirements across the building lifecycle.
Established in 1950 and headquartered in Edinburgh, the firm has demonstrated strong growth momentum, opening three new offices in England over the last four years, expanding its service offering through the acquisition of specialist consultancy Pillar Fire, and growing its team to nearly 200 people.
More than 80% of its live projects have a decarbonisation or net zero focus, reflecting rising demand for specialist expertise in improving building performance and reducing carbon emissions. Its cultural and heritage portfolio includes SWG3 in Glasgow and ongoing work on the renovation of the iconic glasshouses at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
BGF’s investment will support the management team in accelerating Harley Haddow’s growth through continued organic expansion and selective acquisitions. As part of this next phase, Marc McLuskey, currently a director at Harley Haddow, will become CEO.
PMSI provided CDD to support the transaction.
