Impact Environmental Group’s double-acquisition of leading waste containment manufacturers

Rockwood Equity backed Impact Environmental Group (IEG) acquired the leading European metal waste container manufacturer Egbert Taylor Holdings in November 2021. Egbert Taylor have manufactured over 1.6m metal containers, supplying 90% of all UK Municipalities and the main private sector contractors. In recent years, the business has expanded beyond the UK supplying the waste and recycling containment infrastructure for markets around the world

IEG subsequently extended their UK presence by acquiring Duraflex, the brand behind Chesterfield-based Container Components Europe. The decision to purchase Duraflex is part of IEG’s global strategy to build a comprehensive waste solutions organisation that caters to a wide spectrum of the waste industry. IEG produces a broad range of products for the waste sector including welded and flat-pack bins, container lids, compactor parts, castors, roll-off container parts, tarps, trash cutes, compactor systems and services.

The acquisitions will grow IEG’s UK revenue to £25m, with the group aiming to rapidly grow its UK presence via product leadership and further acquisitions.

Brendan Murphy, now IEG’s EMEA President, said: “As part of IEG Group, I expect to see significant growth over the next two years and we are already exploring new opportunities within Europe, the Middle East and Asia.”

PMSI provided the CDD support for both deals, including analysis of the UK market, competitive landscape, export opportunities and a customer referencing process.
